Toyota legally required to stop selling 8 models

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

Toyota RecallsI’m sure by now most everyone that owns a TV has heard the news concerning Toyota’s massive recall. Last Thursday, Toyota recalled 2.3 million vehicles after two recent incidents in New Jersey and Texas were under investigation by NHTSA, making the decision to recall the vehicles without figuring out how to fix the problem. But Toyota had a legal requirement to stop selling the models. It isn’t clear why Toyota continued to sell the models for another five days.

This news is shocking coming from a company who’s name has been synonymous with quality. However, these issues date all the way back to 2007.

It will be difficult for Toyota to find a carpet large enough to sweep this under, but will definitely open the door for other manufacturers such as Ford to steal the lime light. Who would of ever thought their would come a day that Ford Motor Company would produce a better quality vehicle than Toyota. In the midst of these tough economic times rather than cutting corners to save money Alan Mulally has been leading an amazing re-skinning of Ford’s 2010 lineup which has already won many automotive awards. The vehicle leading this charge is the 2010 Ford Fusion & Fusion Hybrid which took home the 2010 Motor Trend Car of the Year Honors and has NEVER had a recall since it’s inception in 2006! Is Ford going to become the New Toyota?
