FORD OWNERS HAPPIEST OF ALL

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

Ford customers have a lot to cheer about. Along with experiencing the fewest number of things gone wrong with their vehicles, they’re also happiest with their purchases, according to the Global Quality Research System study conducted for Ford by the RDA Group. Eighty-four percent of 2010 Ford, Lincoln and Mercury owners are satisfied with their purchase, the study shows, a 4 percent improvement over the fourth quarter of 2009. This means Ford’s customer satisfaction scores are now significantly higher than any other full-line manufacturer, including Asian and European carmakers, and that the company’s commitment to world-class quality is paying off. more…

Ford Re-Launches “Swap Your Ride” Incentive PROGRAM

Thursday, April 15th, 2010

Ford is in the midst of a product renaissance that helped catapult it ahead of other U.S. automakers in sales in recent months – and helped it place vehicles in the top five positions on twelve of our best car ranking lists.  With its newfound confidence, the company has set out to steal loyalists from other brands.

Autoblog reports, “The company’s ‘Swap Your Ride’ campaign is back in full swing, and will run wide open until the end of next month. All you have to do to qualify for zero-percent financing and a $1,000 trade-in bonus is simply hand over the keys to your old set of wheels.”  Customers trading in a competitor’s product under the program qualify for the $1,000 trade-in bonus.

A few cautions are in order.  Any program using a “trade-in bonus” still relies on the dealership to estimate the value of your trade-in before applying the bonus, so shoppers should be certain a Ford dealership doesn’t low-ball the trade-in, then add the “bonus” just to bring it back to market value.  There are also some important exceptions.  The offer doesn’t extend to any Ford hybrids.  Some high-performance special editions like the Shelby GT 500 Mustang and SVT Raptor pickup are also excluded.

The incentive campaign, FourWheelsNews notes, “will start with over a dozen TV commercials that will show owners of rival brands praising Ford cars after taking week-long test drives.”

The Detroit Free Press explains, “Ford randomly picked 31 people who were driving competitors’ cars and trucks in Texas and California and allowed them to test-drive a Ford for a week.”  The test drivers weren’t necessarily car shopping.  “At the end of the week, TV celebrity and Ford ad pitchman Mike Rowe” interviewed the participants for commercials.

If it sounds familiar, that’s because you may have seen the same campaign before.  The UPI notes that the program mimics “a marketing campaign that began in 2007.”

2012 Ford Focus Design Hotter Than Ever

Sunday, April 4th, 2010

In 2000 Ford introduced a car that defined the new millennium. The Ford Focus was designed not only to appeal to the economy minded buying segment of the US population but also to a global market. The vehicle while easy on the pocketbook was also designed well and offered the customer several trim levels.

The Ford Focus, while in its Second generation in Europe was only given a refresh in 2008 for US markets and has not been given that extra nudge needed to compete against other economy car options.

However, it is no secret in the auto industry that Ford Motor Company is hotter than ever and so why not heat up the economy division? Enter the 2012 Ford Focus (debuting early 2011) and not the boring US version but the Second Generation Euro-version. The buzz since the North American International Auto show is that economy minded customers should stop by a Ford dealership before heading out to a Toyota or Honda dealership.

Ford offers this world-class car in a variety of engine options (10) with the standard US being a 2.0 liter direct-injection 155-hp engine; Ecoboost may be available for the economy minded who like a few more horses. Speaking of the economy minded, Ford engineers also look for every possible way to get more mpg for the consumer. In this effort, the 2012 Focus will come equipped with a new dual-clutdh fully automatic PowerShift transmission.

Ford may also use ‘stop-start’ technology in its attempt to get 40 mpg. This means the vehicle will automatically shut off when the car is stopped so that no fuel is wasted at that time. When ‘stop-start’ is implemented the driver will have no need to do anything but think of the money saved with this Ford added fuel economy feature.

Ford Motor Company and the world-class 2012 Ford Focus are hot, yes hotter than ever. Cleaver engineers with an eye on the pulse of consumer needs and wants equals out to an exciting time for Ford Motor Company and consumers as well.
