Ford to Improve Safety By Reducing Driver Stress
Ford isn’t just producing the best cars snatching up Motor Trend’s 2010 Car of the Year with the Ford Fusion, they’re proving why they are leading with news of a new program to reduce driver stress.
Ford announced a partnership with MIT to conduct a study on improving driver safety as it relates to stress. The six month study begins in January and they’ll utilize technology such as Adaptive Cruise Control with Collision Warning, SYNC, and demonstrate how using these features may make life less irritating on the road.
They’ll be monitoring heart rate, and a number of other things while drivers set out onto the congested roads and see how the systems aids them.
This is a very wise move by Ford because not only are they showing concern for things that impact the lives of their drivers, but they are stating implicitly the reason and purpose behind why they develop this type of technology. Simply put, they care about you and want you to experience less stress, brilliant.
Ford is making decisions, like a game of chess, every move is part of an overall strategy, and in their case they’ve made the purpose of the game all about the customer which will bring them much success.
Most people know that they need to have some sort of diet, exercise, and rest to live stress-free and by having a Ford there’s going to be a confidence that rests with the consumer, and the gratitude will begin to transcend the driving experience and be associated with it. Bravo.
There is a good balance with the Ford brand in that its not only producing a top vehicle, but its also extending into the needs of its customers fulfilling things that normally wouldn’t be expected from an automobile company. The result will continue to yield the best cars and continue to raise the bar for other car companies that may simply miss the point of this exceptional service and dedication.
